Dashboard

Your home base in Datavine. The dashboard gives you an at-a-glance view of your BigQuery project — recent queries, data quality status, cost trends, and quick actions.

What you see

The dashboard adapts based on your role selection (set in Settings). It shows a curated set of widgets and quick actions relevant to how you use data. Think of it as your morning briefing — everything you need to know about your data estate in one glance.

Recent QueriesYour last 5 executed queries with status, duration, and cost. Click any to re-open in the SQL Editor. Cached queries show a lightning bolt icon.
Data Quality SummaryActive anomaly count, latest scan status, and tables with open incidents. Color-coded: green (healthy), yellow (warnings), red (critical issues detected).
Cost OverviewCurrent period spend vs previous period, cache hit rate, and total bytes scanned. The area chart shows daily cost trends.
Quick ActionsOne-click shortcuts: New Query, Profile a Table, Run Anomaly Scan, View Lineage, Open Data Chat. These adapt based on your selected role.
Pipeline HealthSuccess rate of recent pipeline runs with red/yellow/green indicators. Click any pipeline to jump directly to its detail view.
Team ActivityLatest actions by team members — queries run, dashboards created, anomalies detected, issues resolved. Organization workspace only.

Customizing your dashboard

Choose your role in Settings → Dashboard Role to customize which widgets appear and how they're prioritized. Available personas:

Data EngineerPipeline health, anomaly detection, lineage, cost optimization. Emphasizes infrastructure reliability.
Data AnalystRecent queries, saved queries, data chat, dashboard shortcuts. Emphasizes daily query workflow.
Engineering ManagerTeam activity, cost trends, issue board summary, SLA status. Emphasizes team oversight.
Platform AdminAll widgets visible. Member activity, permission changes, connection health, system-wide stats.
Business UserShared dashboards, data chat, simplified cost view. Minimal technical detail.

Changing your role does not affect your actual permissions — it only changes the dashboard layout and quick action buttons.

Project context

Everything on the dashboard reflects the currently selected GCP project. Switch projects using the project selector at the top of the sidebar. If no project is selected, the dashboard shows a prompt to connect one.
